KCS provided the design and installation of an elevated, grid-tied solar photovoltaic system totaling 10 kW DC at the Cottonwood airport.  KCS utilized crystalline panels and a single inverter to tie into the APS grid.  KCS had to work closely with the FAA and the airport commission in order to meet their guidelines for construction on an operational airport site.  KCS bored DC conduits underneath the runway to avoid interrupting any of the ongoing operations of the airport.
