Each station contains dorms, a kitchen, dining and day room, physical conditioning rooms, treatment rooms, locker rooms, crew and captain offices, restrooms, lobby and hallways, and truck bays. Fire Station No. 23 green building strategies:

- Insulation made from 90 percent post-consumer recycled fibers
- Photovoltaic and solar thermal systems
- Solar domestic hot water system
- Terrazzo-style, ground-exposed concrete
