MICROSOFT RETAIL STORES
KCS has been involved with three Microsoft Retail Store renovations. Each project incorporated a high level of sustainable features and strategies.
Microsoft opened up its first retail store in Scottsdale, Arizona near the end of 2009. KCS oversaw the construction efforts, which included the complete gut and installation of 11,000 SF of retail space within the ever-busy Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall. In 2010, KCS managed construction for the second Microsoft Retail Store in San Diego, which required the team to meet an aggressive 14-week schedule.
In 2011, KCS oversaw construction efforts on a third Microsoft Retail Store at the South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, California. The scope of work included the complete gut and installation of 6,725 SF of retail space and 1,045 SF of remote storage space.
All three Microsoft Retail Stores received LEED Certification by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC).
