Our commitment to community is at the heart of everything we do. Through our Kinney Foundation, we support over 40 local community and non-profit organizations. Our team is dedicated to enhancing the overall well-being of our community through board participation, volunteer efforts, advocacy, and financial support through individual and company contributions, sponsorships, and campaign fundraisers.

Kinney’s long-standing, 18-year, partnership with United Way of Northern Arizona (UWNA) has resulted in Kinney having donated more than a million dollars to the organization and therefore, thousands of local causes! UWNA serves Coconino, Navajo, and Apache counties, focusing on initiatives that support youth development, education, and the basic needs of individuals and families. Kinney believes in the power of community, and our partnership with UWNA is one of the many ways we strive to make a meaningful and lasting difference.

In celebration of Earth Day 2025, the Kinney team rolled up their sleeves for a cleanup of our adopted section of the Flagstaff Urban Trail System (FUTS). We’re proud to help keep our trails clean, beautiful, and accessible for everyone — one step at a time. The day was completed with a visit from Albert the Squirrel, the mascot of the Flagstaff Sustainability Office! At Kinney, we’re committed to Building Better Together — for our communities and our planet.

The 2025 Annual Community STEM Celebration: This annual gathering is a unique opportunity for our entire community to connect with the vibrant world of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) — and to see firsthand why Flagstaff proudly holds the title of “America’s First STEM Community.”

NAU Interior design students
Kinney had the privilege of hosting Interior Design students from Northern Arizona University at our Northland Preparatory Academy STEAM Building project. It was an inspiring opportunity to give them a behind-the-scenes tour of the job site and engage in insightful discussions, answering their questions and sharing industry experiences.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of flagstaff
Kinney proudly participated in the 43rd Annual Bowl for Kids’ Sake, hosted by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Flagstaff! This incredible event unites over half a million people nationwide every year to raise funds and have fun, all while empowering the next generation.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Flagstaff is on a mission to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the potential and promise of our youth. We’re honored to be part of such an impactful cause and help inspire positive change in our community.
Northern arizona university football
We were thrilled to host the Northern Arizona University Football team at our Northland Preparatory Academy STEAM Addition project site for their exciting gameday footage! As part of their “Building Success” theme for the season under new Head Coach Brian Wright, this collaboration highlights a shared commitment to growth and achievement.

United way of northern arizona Kinder Camp
Kinney is a proud sponsor of United Way of Northern Arizona’s KinderCamp program, giving local preschoolers the primary social and academic skills needed to successfully transition to kindergarten in the fall. Every summer, Kinney gets the opportunity to attend a KinderCamp session at Kinsey Elementary School and participate in the foundational skills that the program teaches.

As a proud partner of Flagstaff STEM City, Kinney has the unique opportunity to inspire the next generation by engaging with students both in the classroom and on the jobsite. Through hands-on field trips and interactive learning experiences, we help bring Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) to life—sparking curiosity and showcasing real-world applications of these critical fields.

Kinney has been the sponsor of the annual Dave McKay Memorial Run for the past four years, which is the oldest Half Marathon in Arizona! All proceeds benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Flagstaff Mentoring Programs that provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported 1-to-1 relationships that change their lives for the better, forever.

Phoenix Children’s Big Dig for Kids is a one-of-a-kind event that transforms a construction site into a wonderland of exploration and empowerment for pediatric patients and their families. Kids become builders for the day — operating real excavators, riding high on scissor lifts, and getting hands-on with heavy machinery, all in a safe, supervised environment. Creative activities and crafts in the Kid Zone add to the excitement, making it a day filled with joy, inspiration, and unforgettable memories.
Since its inception in 2016, Big Dig for Kids has raised over $4 million in support of pediatric cancer research. Kinney is honored to be a longtime sponsor and annual volunteer, proudly supporting this incredible cause and the courageous children it serves.

Kinney proudly partnered with United Way of Northern Arizona to support flood mitigation efforts across Coconino County by volunteering to fill and distribute sandbags. In response to post-wildfire flooding threats, our team stepped in to assist local residents and emergency responders by helping fortify homes and neighborhoods at risk. Kinney has a deep-rooted commitment to protecting and uplifting our community—especially in times of urgent need. We believe that true construction begins with resilience, compassion, and service.

Every month, Kinney proudly volunteers at the Flagstaff Family Food Center, serving meals to individuals and families in need. Our team members roll up their sleeves to help prepare and serve nutritious food, offering not just meals, but kindness, dignity, and connection to our local community. This ongoing commitment reflects Kinney’s belief that building a stronger Northern Arizona starts with supporting those who need it most—because for us, community building goes far beyond the job site.
