Kinney is currently serving as a JOC Contractor for Coconino County’s JOC Program, and Kinney was the only firm to qualify for both of the two different classifications: horizontal and vertical construction. Kinney completed the Copeland Berm Maintenance and Twin Berms Maintenance JOC projects, both of which were located in the 14,000+ acre area damaged by the Shultz Flood. Kinney reconstructed the badly eroded drainage berms and channels including draining water out of the channels in order to remove existing sediment as well as recompacted, reshaped, and regraded to reduce future erosion. Kinney also constructed a massive new berm system including swells, ditches, and channels.
