Deemed a “Building of the Future,” Northern Arizona University’s (NAU) International Pavilion earned the coveted President’s Award (Best of Show) and the Crescordia Award in the 36th Annual Arizona Forward Environmental Excellence Awards presented by SRP.
Serving as a central gathering and learning space for the University’s international student population, the International Pavilion is a new, two-story, 9,800 SF, LEED Platinum Certified building containing an auditorium, classrooms, activity room, community and catering kitchens, offices, and open meeting areas. Exterior amenities include a plaza, ADA compliant pathways, and a new Global Peace Garden. By utilizing a combination of efficient heating and cooling systems, natural ventilation, LED lighting, and rooftop solar, the International Pavilion is capable of generating more energy than it consumes, making it the first Net Zero Energy commercial building in Flagstaff and on NAU’s campus.
